Is there any graphic keyword to specify the distance between a ticklabel
and its axis?

Especially with surface procedure, the tickmark labels tend to overlap
each other and lie atop the axis itself. I probably could output no tick
labels and individually lay the numbers using xyouts, but Ugh!
