You may not fully appreciate this yet, JD, but I used
to believe there was some fixed notion in the world of
"point size", too. Then, I realized it was a function
of which pair of reading glasses I happened to find
when I wanted to read something. There were "small
point size" glasses and "large point size" glasses.
And it was amazing to me how much these could effect my
opinion of news magazine page designers.

I've come now to think of "size" as something that
is completely made up inside of your head, with no
basis in "reality" whatsoever. It has completely
shaken my belief in physics. The only thing I am
certain of any more is that the poet who saw
"A universe in a grain of sand" had a better
optometrist than I do.
