Folks,
It is a long story, but suffice it to say I have in my possession
a ticket to the Gentlemen's Wimbledon Final on July 9th of this
year. (Don't ask me, but it pays to be lucky, or--failing that--
to have lucky friends.) I assume the match will be between Roger
Federer and someone else, whose name will probably *not* be
Tim Henman. Oh, well, that doesn't matter. It is a chance in
a lifetime opportunity for a tennis hacker like me.
BUT, my wife insists I have a *reason* (can you believe this!?)
to be in England around this time. So, if you have been looking
for an interesting speaker for that monthly journal club,
or your were thinking about an IDL lecture or class, and this
time frame interests you, please let me know. I have been known
to cut VERY good deals when I wanted to get some place cheaply. :-)
