Oh yes, I forgot. Therre is a FILL keyword coming with CONTOUR ...

Thank you for the response!
I tried to experiment with a contour plot using the levels and c_labels
keywords which does not give a different color but it labels each line
so it is a good first step. Your suggestion might do the trick though
so I will try it out and let you know.

Hmm, nobody stepped in here, so why not me? What about using TV
together with a decent colour table just to get started? You might of
course have to get used to BYTSCL(), to, but it should work.
