Hello,

I'm currently evaluating software to segment CT data into objects and then
animate the objects individually either as mesh renderings or as voxel points.
I'm also going to have to write data import filters for Siemens images files
(ACR-NEMA standard based).

I've received a brochure from IDL and I've seen the "7 minute demo" but they
don't deal specifically with manipulating volume data in the manner that I
wish to. I've also got a demo copy of AVS (Advanced Visual Systems). Given
that I'm a novice in medical imaging and the prices for these packages, I
don't feel secure making my decision based on the information I have now.

I am hoping that one of you, who works with similar data, could objectively
counsel me on the merits and pit-falls of IDL and ISG.

Thanks in advance,

Rick
