At the current stage this project is my personal Altyntsev Dmitriy IDL
page. I have been using IDL for more than 5 years mainly in the field
of satellite remote sensing. And from time to time I couldn't help from
experimenting with IDL programming techniques trying to found out more
productive and harmonious IDL programming style. While rearranging my
library lately I found that accumulated tricks are gathering to some
kind of system library and decided to make it LGPL public. So while
this is a personal IDL page it is all dedicated to this library and
could grow up to some sort of open source project.
Library concerns basic concepts of IDL programming and try to make some
steps forwards towards solving eternal programming problems such as
reusability, scalability and productivity of the programming code. Main
idea of the library is "manual" implementation/expanding of OOP
mechanism towards more self-dependence of the objects and intensive use
of tree hierarchical data structures. Nothing really new. If "widgets
as objects", "objects messaging", "base object" sounds interesting then
this site for you.
I do not have any support or obligations on developing this library so
this project is a start-up with unpredictable future. The current stage
of the library is pre-pre-initial publishing of concepts to get some
critics, advices and, by some miracle, a little help or support. Not
ready for practical usage. For real fanatics only. :)
