I would like to know whether or not the IDL_IDLBridge object is useful
for VM programs. The program I am working on will be used by people
with only the VM, and it would be very nice to do some computations in
the background.

The IDL documentation doesn't seem to say whether it will work or not.
A thread about IDL 6.3 changes on this board in May suggests it will
not work because of the disabled 'execute'. Then I compiled the
idlbridge_demo.pro example to a .sav file and here it works using the
virtual machine. But does it only work because I have a licensed copy
of IDL on this computer also?

I would appreciate some clarification on whether or not I can expect
the IDL_IDLBridge::Execute method to operate on computers with only the
IDL VM.
