I've found a bug in the new hypertext help facility in IDL 4.0. so I
though I'd try to save everyone the fustration I went through before I
managed to track it down!
If you call help from within idltool by typing '?', then any subsequent
calls to PICKFILE will cause idltool to freeze up. This happens on
SGI and HP workstations - I don't know if it affects anything else.
This is easy to get around, just call idlhelp from a UNIX shell and
not from idltool.
So if you are suddenly finding that PICKFILE is crashing, perhaps it's
because you used the help facility at sometime during the session (it
still crashes even if you quit from help first)
