I spoke with Amanda Malone from RSI and asked her about the ability
to convert multiple images from IDL to some movie format. She said
that RSI will probably work on such an option (but probably in MPEG
format) that would be out next year sometime. They want to be
careful that whatever format they choose is compatible across platforms.
So don't count on an AVI format from RSI. I would also like to get
this utility if someone else is developing it.
