We are very seriously considering a purchase of IDL. The primary
function of this package would be for GIS (Geographic Information),
such as mapping and displaying and manipulating our data. I was
wondering if one of these two packages is slightly better for this
purpose. We are unsure exactly where these two packages differ. Does
one have a strength where the other doesn't?
