Kudos to ITTVIS for getting the Intel version of IDL for Mac OS X out so
quickly.
This is a statement from MathWorks about MATLAB for Intel Macs:

It's the other way around, surely?
Mathworks have the class system, allowing students to treat themselves as second
class citizens (by offering them a second class product at a second class
fare), while ITTVIS operate a egalitarian one-fare-for-all policy. That seems
pretty fare to me ;-)

Well, at least Mathworks allow students to get a mactel version almost
at the same time as "real scientists". So I say anti-kudos to ITTVIS
for treating students as second class idlizens! :-(
