Does anyone have a color contouring routine which is better
than contour/polycontour? Polycontour's inability to handle
unclosed contours is quite a handicap. I use the trick of
adding the extra row of data around the border to compensate
but that often results in garbage around my plots, especially
with small datasets.

I could also use a better version of map_set. I do a lot
of plotting over the Arctic and I get some bizarre results
with land masses which overlap the borders of my range.
