Has anyone had any luck printing color (particularly from a
color HP Deskjet) from the edit->print menu in IDL 4.0 for Windows?
BW is fine, but when I try to print color, it only prints a portion
of the picture (not even a third), and then the printer stops
responding. No clue.

I tried to print directly with print_file and using spawn, but
print_file didn't work at all, and printing a .pcl from the DOS
prompt was SLOW (I mean over five minutes for it to even start
printing!!). I'm at a loss.

If anyone's had similar experiences or knows what to do, please
