I'm trying to make a contour plot, but the relevant contours
I need are all outside the unit circle. Is there a simple way
to tell IDL not to interpolate the function to make contours
within the unit circle? (The function is in irregularly gridded
rectangular coordinates. If I interpolated onto a polar
coordinate grid would the contour look ragged?)

I tried calling contour with path_xy and path_info. I can make
pretty much the desired plot by using the data that is passed
back.
But then I get some out-of-place lines--I guess from connecting
unconnected contour points?? And the contours aren't labelled.
And I don't understand the /normal coordinates--can someone give
me a pointer?

Sorry if this is a RTFM question, but I'm in a hurry to get this
done!

Thanks muchly,

Bram
