Is there any maximum number of lines for a procedure?

I'm asking for this question because I've compiled a large procedure
(650 lines) in idl 6.3 and syntax errors ocurred.

I've tried to compile the error lines separately and they worked out,
but in the whole function they crash.

Fanning, how about holydays in Madrid¿?
