I am currently having a problem with the same widget tree code on
different OSs. In windows, the code is normal and produces a widget
tree which has folders that can be selected and expanded. However, in
UNIX, the xmanager of the same code does not generate events for the
tree as if it is insensitive to selections and expansions. Any clues
as to what may be the root cause of this problem?

Does IDL have any features, similar to a dialog pickfile/message, but
will prompt a user for string or numerical input instead?
