Outlier removal using quartiles

Dear all,
I have a dataset (1D array) with very large outliers that effects the
mean and the std. Using a 4rms basic outlier removal is not valid..
hence I want to remove them using quartiles. Please let me know if you
have any software already out there for that purpose
