PV-WAVE and MAP functions [message #5470]

I have been using the PV-WAVE MAP and MAP_XYOUTS functions to overlay
coastlines on satellite imagery I have generated. One of the projections is a
transverse mercator. I have specified my TM satellite image using a central
lat,lon pair and then a size in pixels (each of which is a fixed size in
kilometers). The MAP function can draw the TM map but I can't see anyway of
getting the corect area for my satellite image as MAP works in lat,lon space ->
I specify the centre and a zoom but the zoom works in lat,lon not actual
distance.

Any suggestions ? Am I missing some subtlety or are there bits to MAP I can use
to help.
