Cool! I've had this problem ever since I upgraded to 10.4 and didn't
know how to fix it until now. Thanks!

Try entering at the prompt
defaults write com.apple.x11 wm_click_through -bool true
(this is the shell of the Mac, not the Sun or the IDL prompt)
and maybe restart X11.app and then see if that helps. That sets an
option to allow you to send clicks through to windows without having
to click to activate first, which might be the issue.

I do not run my IDL on aremote session. However, my mouse is alos not responsing when using IDL (e.g. defroi). I have the XQuartz running on my mac.
Any help is very welcome.
