IDLdoc 3.0 development is underway. This will be a complete rewrite
starting from scratch, but will accept all the same comments markup
from before. This time the source code will be open under a BSD-style
license. The main new feature is the ability to accept multiple
formats for the comments: the old IDLdoc style, the standard IDL
template, and a new style (a bit easier on the eyes).

Particularly pay attention to the part about signing up for the
mailing list if you want to be part of the beta program (i.e. I would
like to be sure that IDLdoc 3.0 really does accept all the same
comments markup that IDLdoc 2.0 did).
