I have a couple issues with the new help system.
This may be a silly question, but the "old" help system on Windows had
this great feature: TABS.
I found this to be extremely useful, but I cannot figure out how to
open multiple tabs in the new
help system. This is very surprising given the basis for the new
IDE.
Also the basic searching for the new help system does not seem very
helpful. For example,
if I enter "widget_control", I do not get useful options as the result
of the search. Perhaps
I have missed something here.
Any help is appreciated! Sorry if I missed earlier posts addressing
these issues.
Thanks a lot!

Now that I think about it, I think this machine has a
*little* more RAM than that. :-)
I can remember, though, when I *did* have about that
much RAM and MacPaint seemed like a BIG application!
Cheers,
David

Oh, duh. One of the tabs at the bottom of the help system
beside the index tab is a "bookmarks" tab. You can have
all the bookmarks you want there. That replaces
the tab functionality from before.
Thanks ITTVIS! I feel better now!

Thanks for making me feel better David!
The index tab at the bottom is really useful,
and now I feel like I am a little closer to where
I was before. Using the index and Firefox will get
me by for now.
What about the "Bookmarks" button that looks a lot like
the new tab button? Does anyone know where do those
bookmarks go?
Also, is anyone facile with Eclipse plugins? If so, is it
possible to do all sorts of Eclipse plugin applications
to make up for the initial perceived shortcomings?

I've explored the crankiness theory, but a PCA analysis
of the data shows that crankiness per se explains less
than 10 percent of the variability in the data.

Thanks for the valuable suggestions! But sorry to David, some of the
problem
is real!
I noticed the Firefox option, but it seems like I am stuck with one
help-system
per tab in Firefox instead of one help-system with multiple tabs.
Maybe that
has the same utility and I am just cranky because I have to adapt to a
new
system when I liked the old one. :-)

You could always open help in firefox. Then you can have as many tabs
as you want.
