Hi,

I try to lauch a MS Windows program (mplayer.exe) from within
IDL 3.6.1 by using spawn, 'c:\windows\mplayer.exe ' + filename
but IDL opens a DOS box and mplayer writes "This program
requires MS Windows". The same happens with IDL 4.0.1.
Linkimage is said to work with DLLs only but how do I start a
windows program ?
