I installed the Eclipse CVS client using the update tool

Help -> Software Updates -> Find and Install ...

The client seems to work on Linux and Mac.

The problem I found was that I couldn't use a local filesystem
CVSROOT.

My CVSROOT used to be
/path/to/repository

But now it is
:ext:user@hostname:/path/to/repository

I'm migrating from emacs so I had to commit all my code to my
repository, delete my IDL tree, set up cvs over ssh and checkout
everything again.
