That all being said, I find that it never fails that folks forget to
use the save as text file and it causes all sorts or annoyance. I
personally am an aquamacs on my mac guy but I find for windows and
without all the crazy key bindings that notepad++ works well, is easy
to understand, and just works well. You can get it at:
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm

Cheers,

Brian

Microsoft Word would work fine if you saved the files
as Plain Text files (*.txt) and not regular (*.doc)
or Rich Text Format (*.rtf) files. You don't need
a help page. Any editor that saves plain text files
can be used.

Oh, well, if we are talking about our favorite text editors,
I *love* NoteTab Pro. I think it costs $5 and has all kinds of
neat features. I use it exclusively to write my HTML code.
There is a free version, too.

Cheers,

David
