I think this has to be an X-Windows problem, since the dialog
clearly opens up an X Window. At least on SUSE 10.3 it is not
a problem and I see the entire dialog.

Well, I agree it is ugly as sin, but at least I can see the entire
dialog. :-)

If they could hook IDL to the File-Open and Select Printer
dialogs available in the IDL Workbench people would certainly
have a *much* better impression of IDL in general.

Cheers,

If I'm not mistaken Suse Linux installs KDE by default while Ubuntu
has Gnome by default. So I think the problem depends on the desktop
manager - whatever this is and how it works.

idl uses gtk which is quite closer to gnome as to kde.

I can get the same result in kde by selecting the ^_ icon in the
toolbar. (in german Fensterheber, don't get the english word currently)

may be a click on the title does expand it ?
