Greetings,
I have a pressing need to add metadata into JPEG and PNG image files
and the current IDL READ/WRITE_JPEG/PNG functions do not support
metadata or comments. I wondered if anyone has already developed any
procedures that either do this or could be modified to do this?
Ideally, this would be done using the XMP standard for tagging images
so I can put my FITS WCS astrometry directly into the images using the
VO (Virtual Observatory) approved AVM (Astronomical Visualization
Metadata) standards.
