Thanks to all of you who replied so far :-)
Though I found the FAQ, the PV-Wave coverage there is not extensive. Probably I
missed it, but can one use IDL programmes without any modification in PV-Wave ?
Is it version dependable? Some links in the FAQ didn't work for me, either.
I know that there is a Linux version of PV-Wave somewhere, is it on the market
yet? Is anybody aware of FFT routines libraries and/or libraries for spectrum
analisys?
Sorry for being a bother :-)) and thanks in advance
Cheers

The PV-WAVE FAQ has (finally) been updated and will be sent to the
newsgroup and the FAQ location at
ftp://fermi.jhuapl.edu/www/s1r/idl/idl_faq/pvwave_faq.html in a few
minutes.

Non-GUI programs can usually run with little or no modification. If you
happen to use a function available in one language, but not another, it
will have to be created. GUI-based development is quite different in each
application, though.

No, but there is Linux version of IDL on the market (in use here at this
company, also).

Both programs have FFT functions. IDL's ENVI program has spectral
analysis, but that is an optional application.
