I am trying to plot symbols on an image using a 24 bit display (SGI IRIS
Indigo using IRIX 4.0.5). I want to display teh image in two planes (red
and green) and oplot the symbols in blue. I try the commands
plot,/noeras,/nodata,findgen(10)
oplot,findgen(10),chan=3
erase,chan=3

but the plot appears first in white and then in yellow. Note that I
cannot use col=blue because that would wipe out the information in the
first 16 bits.

Am I using the channel keyword incorrectly or is this a bug in the
procedure?
tv,image,channel=2 works fine
