Problem with color maps [message #5890] Mon, 26 February 1996 00:00

I need to display two or more Sun raster greyscale images simultaneously on
the screen using IDL (not a Widgets based application). If the images have
different intensity ranges, IDL can be made to use the color map of only one
of the images. This results in the distortion of all other images. Is there
some way around this problem?

A possible solution is to have a different color map used in each
window. Another is to compute a color map that best approximates the combined
color map of the images to be displayed. Does someone have an implementation
of such a solution?

I don't read this group regularly. Please respond by e-mail.
Thank you.
