I'm going to second this one, this one still bites me in the rear
every couple of weeks, it seems. And it can be really hard to
diagnose.

Other things that have cost me time recently are:
--remembering the /EXTRACT keyword in STRMATCH() and STREGEX() (BTW,
has anyone implemented RegExp substitution in IDL?)
--syntax for calls to ARRAY_INDICES(), as well as use of
REVERSE_INDICES.

The other ones I recognize from back when I was new at this....
