I have a question on the run time of idl or pv_wave routines.
In my experience, idl routines take more run time compared
with fortran program. It was OK for me if the run time is
not so long (less than 1 hour).

Becuase IDL(PV_waver) became very convenient language to me,
I have a temptation to write a very long idl program that takes
several hours to days in fortran code.

Does anyone consider or test this problem? By efficient programming
in IDL(PV_WAVE) language, it can be approached to the run time
of fortran programs?

Please tell me or post any info or suggestion on this problem.
