Hello,
I was wondering if any one has used the widget builder (WIDED) on a
Macintosh. I am using IDL 4.0.1 and WIDED can't write the ".PRO" file. Has
any one else seen this problem?
I am not doing any thing fancy, just trying to follow the tutorial. I have
just started learning about widgets and thought that this would be a good
way to get my feet wet. If any one out there who is an experienced widget
programmer has any advice, it would be appreciated.

Hi,
I have had the same problem, but when I used the "without header" option
in WIDED
saving the *.pro worked (except it had no header). To make the normal
"save pro"
work I had to move/copy the file "template.pro", which WIDED uses as the
header,
to the "help::widget" folder (which is the place WDIED expect
template.pro to
be). By the way, I found "template.pro" in the folder "examples::general"
but
do a search to be certain.
Nowadays WIDED works just fine.
