what is the shift? a few meters? kilometers? thousands km?
Have you used the proper datum in your long/lat? Are you sure the
coordinates are around -52 to -130 (Canada) and not +52 to +130..

PS: is there a big team at EC working with IDL and Envi??? ... I would
definitely be interested!!!
