I am relatively new to IDL, having done most of my previous
development in a Unix/C type environment. I am adapting to the
language ok (David Fanning's course at RSI certainly helped a
lot in this respect) but I really miss using make (specifically
gmake); it's really a pain keeping track of dependencies for big
projects without it. I can think of some kludgy,
semi-functional, and nonportable (I'm currently using IDL in
both Unix and NT) ways of invoking make from within IDL but was
wondering if anyone has written or come across any "make-like"
tools for IDL. If not I guess I have something to work on in the
proverbial copious spare time,
