Yes, I have the same setup you mentioned and it does not work for me
when viewing the help within Eclipse. The work around for me is to
start the online help from the terminal command line:
$ idl
IDL> ?
This starts a webserver and brings up a page in my default browser
(don't get me started about the fact that I have to start a webserver
to view the documentation). The comment links in the browser work for
me (as Doug can attest to).
Also, there is a setting for the "Default email reader" on the general
page of the Mail.app preferences that you need to have set correctly.
