Iissshhhh. (That sound you hear is sort of like the Brits sucking
air through their teeth when you've done something naughty.)
Probably not a good idea to install Eclipse updates, since
the Workbench is so delicately balanced on the Eclipse release
current at the time of the Workbench release. (In other words,
don't take the advice of the Workbench update service.)
For what it's worth, a new version of IDL (7.0.3) will be
available, according to ITTVIS, by the end of this month.
Faster analyzing of code, better path handling, and updates
to the HDF and netCDF libraries, is what I heard from them.

P.S. For what it is worth, I had to re-install IDL the other day
and I accidentally installed the Eclipse updates, too. Nothing
bad has happened to me (yet), but I'm on a Windows machine, so it
would be hard to tell. :-)
