OS X Leopard /IDL7.0 cursor issues [message #61043] Thu, 26 June 2008 19:15

I'm running IDL7.0 and OS X 10.5 on several Intel Macs.
I run IDL from the command line in an xterm generated by Terminal.

I'm having a variety of cursor-related problems. For example,

Tvscl,Findgen(300)#Findgen(300)
Zoom

The middle and right buttons don't perform as expected. I am stuck in some
endless look and I need to kill the IDL session.

I am using a three button mouse, and I've tried the old-fashioned command:

defaults write com.apple.x11 wm_click_through -bool true

This used to do the trick on the old version of X11, but it does not seem to
help now.

I am running X11 version 2.1.4.

Any suggestions on how to get the cursor to work properly in ZOOM?

While I am at it, I get NOTHING when I type ? at the IDL prompt. How can I
configure my system to have IDL help work again?

Thanks!
