Hello,

Can anyone tell me where I might find additional bitmaps for toolbar
buttons? The ones distributed with IDL are good, but there is a
limited selection. My needs are pretty standard. I am wondering if
anyone knows where I might find a library of bitmaps that is in the
public domain or free to download.

Thanks!

Cindy

Here are a couple that I have used:

Silk icon set @ http://www.famfamfam.com/lab/icons/silk/

Tango Icon Library @ http://tango.freedesktop.org/Tango_Icon_Library

Hi Cindy,

You can "steal" bitmaps from other standard programs by doing a screen
capture while you have them loaded, and then pasting the captured
graphics into a graphics editor such as Adobe photoshop. You need to
be careful about the size and bit depth of the picture that you save,
and I think the transparancy color is set by the colour of the bottom
left pixel in the image, but those are details you can figure out with
a bit of digging. I've added lots of bitmap buttons to my programs
this way.
