Oh, oh. Building the very same project on my laptop
(files have been synchronized with Subversion) results
in a save file that runs and exits normally. Both
running latest versions of Windows XP Professional
and IDL 7.0.3.

Back to square one. Very, very strange. Maybe
this *is* the IDL Adventure. :-(

Cheers,

David

Just for completeness. The save file I build in IDL 7.0.3
runs in IDL 6.4, but also crashes IDL 6.4 when I exit the
program.

All signs point toward a bogus save file created in
IDL 7.0.3, but I don't have the foggiest idea how
to prove it. :-(

Cheers,

David

You got that right. And still no word whatsoever
on what the heck this is. Don't the ITTVIS people
read this newsgroup anymore!? :-(

Cheers,

David

P.S. Let's just say if the "IDL Forum" has improved
over on the ITTVIS web page, I haven't noticed.

Just an update.

Building this same file in IDL 6.4 creates a save file
that runs (and exits) perfectly in IDL 7.0.3. This save
file also runs on the Virtual Machine perfectly. Building
the project in IDL 7.0.3 results in a perfectly running
program in both normal IDL and the Virtual Machine, but
an error is thrown when exiting the application in both
of these versions.

The projects are being built from the same source code
files.

Cheers,

David
