I've been noticing some randomness in save files, too,
that are built in IDL 7.0.3. I haven't tracked down
the problem, although it often appears to help if
I do a full reset after I create the save file and
before I restore it to test it. I don't have any
idea what this might be. I clearly don't have the
problem in IDL 6.4.
