I have some data that is sampled on a close-to-rectangular grid that
looks something like the following:

Are you following me? I have the x and y points defined in an MxN
array. The data is an MxN complex array. How would I go about using,
or can I even, some IDL function to accomplish getting the data points
on a regular rectangular grid?
I have tried to use triangulate and trigrid with no success. krig2d
can't allocate enough space for the new array.
I've come to a dead end and any help would be greatly appreciated!
