| Hello!

| I have recently switched to linux (Ubuntu 8.0) and installed IDL(v7.0)

|
| whenever I seek help using command "?" or click on menu "help-> Help
| Content", IDL opens firefox but only error page displayed stating
| "while trying to retrieve the URL: http:/127.0.0.1: ...connection

| displayed normally.
|
| It appears to me more a linux problem than IDL problem, but for me it
| is happening while using IDL and in case anyone has exprienced similar

| Thanking you in advance

The number keeps on changing for each idlde session to session. For
today, the first time it was 59308, for the second time it was 59786
and the third time it was 62936.
One more thing in context of my first message; when I ran idlde using
command > sudo idlde, help command first displayed error message
"firefox not responding...". At this I closed already open firefox
window and on next "? function name" command, help was properly
displayed. But after ending the idlde session, when I restarted
firefox, I noticed that it was corrupt and can only be run properly
after creating new firefox user profile.
Thanks.
