Has anyone got any experience with using IDL in conjunction with Arc/Info
- for example to deliver a (ground) surface map under which a 3D model is
displayed

It would be nice to be able to interogate the IDL image and have that
query passed back to Arc/Info for processing but that might be going a bit
too far for now
