Is there any way to visualize DICOM 3.0 and ACR/NEMA Images with IDL?
Perhaps there is a extension avaible. Any help will be welcome!

You might want to check out the DICOM reader from Floating Point
Systems (I hope I got that name right):

http://www.floating.co.uk/idl/dicom.html

I haven't used this myself but according to the folks at Floating
Point Systems it has some features not available in IDL 5.2's
implementation.

And just in case you care, there is a standalone program called
3D-Doctor that can read DICOM medical images:

3D-Doctor : Read raw/DICOM medical images, convert, segment,
render! http://www.ablesw.com/3d-doctor (Pentium+, Win95,
32MB+)

It isn't clear from your question whether you mean IDL the
Interface Definition Language, or IDL the Interactive Display Language
(which is actually served by comp.lang.idl-pvwave.)

If you mean the Interactive Display Language, then what I have heard
is that IDL 5.2, which was released just a few days ago, contains
routines to deal with DICOM.
