portable pickfile ? [message #6214] Fri, 17 May 1996 00:00

I've come up against what seems to be an annoying bug
re. the pickfile function. Under NT and Win 3.1.1 I can
specify a set of wildcards to match as:

pickfile(filter=['*.one','*.two'])

but this dosen't work under Unix (specifically SunOS 4.1.3)
where instead:

pickfile(filter='*.one *.two')

works. I can, of course, just put OS dependent checks in
my code, but this seems like an ugly thing to have to do.
Has any body had this problem and solved it in a more
reasonable way ? Thanks for any comments,
