I figured it may be time to move into the exciting world of IDL 7.
I actually have nothing super urgent in the next two weeks, so
i figured it was a good time.
Is there a good tutorial or list of tips to get around the many
issues in IDL 7?
I think my main issues would be:
- using different IDLs on different computers (so needing to transfer
the workspaces/source code stuff).
- having a huge number of pro files in my path, and needing to migrate
that intelligently into the workspace/project stuff
- assigning the keys (i'm used to the windows IDE, so I'd like to keep those
keys on winXP and linux (fedora 8))
- upgrading (my upgrade from the original 7.0 fails, no idea why)
- any 64 bit issues? i think i recall problems with the GUI and help on
64 bit machines. Has that been resolved?
