Oh, geez, never mind the never mind.
After all that, the IDL & IDL VM installation doesn't
have the capability of installing the IDL VM. Sheesh...
Is this *suppose* to be this hard!? Never mind that.
I *do* know the answer to that. :-(

Also, does anyone know if you need *different*
Virtual Machines for each platform you want to
run the software on? The download page implies
that you need different versions of the VM for
each platform. Surely that can't be the case,
can it? Maybe I'm just cranky because I see my
grand plans being crushed by reality. :-(
