problem with IDL 4.0.1 and HP-UX 10.10 [message #6362]

I have just installed HP-UX 10.10 with HP CDE 1.0 on my 710 workstation,
and discovered a strange feature. IDL 4.0.1 works fine except for some
graphical procedures:

SHADE_SURF, indgen(10,10) does not work (IDL hangs, and must be killed from
another shell)
tv, bindgen(512,512) does not work, but
tv, bindgen(128,128) does work.

We have several 710 and 715's with HP-UX 10.01 and HP VUE 3.0, and for these
IDL works fine. Is this a configuration problem of the kernel, X, CDE or
something like that?

Any suggestions?
