I have trouble installing new postscript fonts under IDL.
I understand that USER defined fonts _are_ permitted (although
the Users Guide does not go in any detail here).
However, so far I have not found a way to install fonts myself
(without involving the local sysop... I do of course not have
write permission for fonts.map and the afm directory).
So how do I set the environment variables to make my very own
_user_ defined font environment? Which I can experiment with and
modify each day if needed (It is out of the question to involve
the sysop in this - he is busy as it is).
SO, I have the .afm and the .pfa files in my home directory... what
do I do next?
Thanks for any hints.

Trond
