Hi,

this is probably a stupid question...I'm trying to print out
some color images using a HP DeskJet 1200C/ps printer. I know
this printer is not a "state of the art" but the different quality
between output on the screen and on the paper seems to me too much
(even using very good quality papers). I even know that there is a
difference
between the color system used by IDL (RGB or truecolor) and the
one used by the printer. So far to produce my ps file
I just give the following comands:

set_plot,'ps'
!p.font = 0 ;this for something else...
device,/color,bits=8
tvscl,image,....
device,/close

Is there a more smart way to produce a better quality output
whitout buying a more expensive color printer ?
